Demo vs Full Game: Content, Availability and Limits
Compare GrimKeep’s October demo with the planned full release: Outskirts, three demo heroes, additional regions, the Crucible, and availability.
FAQ
Can I still download the October demo?
Was the Crucible included in the demo?
Has the full game already launched?
The useful comparison is the playable October slice against the developer’s announced full-game scope. It is not a comparison based on access to an unreleased build. The full game’s final behavior still needs to be checked at launch.
What was included in the October demo?
The official FAQ describes a first-map demo with selected items and three heroes: The Huntress, The Beast and The Feral. The October balance announcement identifies that map as the Outskirts. This defines the trial’s scope without claiming that every announced hero, region or crafting feature was available there.
| Content | October demo | Announced full game |
|---|---|---|
| Regions | The first region, Outskirts | Additional regions |
| Heroes | Three within the demo’s progression | Seven announced in total |
| Items | A selection | More than 200 advertised |
| Crucible | Not part of the FAQ’s demo scope | Listed as an additional full-game feature |
The full-game quantities are announcements, not a count taken from a released build by this site. The official item page also calls its entries a selection, not an exhaustive database.
Is the demo still available now?
The developer’s October 27 announcement says the GrimKeep demo is no longer available. That statement is newer than the launch-of-demo material and resolves the conflicting “play now” wording still visible in parts of the official FAQ. A missing demo button should not automatically be treated as a local installation problem.
Use the official Steam page and the latest announcement when checking for a reopened demo. This guide does not provide an unofficial installer or promise that a previously installed copy remains playable.
Why did the demo’s difficulty change?
The developers explained that the Outskirts was made tougher because it was the entire demo rather than just the opening region of a longer run. They subsequently reduced difficulty during the trial. An early recording and a later one can therefore both be genuine while showing different encounter costs and difficulty.
See the version history and boss preparation guide for the relevant changes. Neither treats one demo win as proof of a full-game route.
What is confirmed about the planned launch?
Resolution Games lists November 30, 2026 as the launch date, with Steam and PlayStation 5 named in its announcement. At the November 4 check, that remains a future release plan. Check the store listing at launch before applying demo-only advice to the full build or assuming a particular feature has shipped.
A demo-to-full save-transfer promise is not established by the sources used here. The saving guide covers run persistence described in the FAQ; it is not a separate guarantee about migrating a demo save.
Which sources support this comparison?
The official FAQ and launch materials establish the content scope. Newer developer announcements establish the demo’s end and balance context. No complete full-game item list, launch-day walkthrough, or personal full-release test is claimed.
