FAQ

Does The Huntress keep unused rerolls?
Yes, between attacks according to the official hero and FAQ pages. Those statements do not establish unlimited carryover between separate runs.
What does The Huntress start with?
The official hero page checked on November 4 lists 200 health, 50 gold and Chisel. October demo updates changed her starting-item strength, so older screenshots may differ.
Should I always save every reroll?
No. Preserving rerolls has value only if the attack and your survival still meet the immediate goal. Compare the improvement you need with the benefit you give up by spending.

What does The Huntress keep between attacks?

The Huntress retains unused rerolls between attacks, making an adequate current roll valuable even when it is not the highest possible score. Spending a reroll can improve the immediate attack, but it also uses a resource that her perk would otherwise preserve for another attack.

The official hero page gives her these starting values:

Starting resource Published value
Maximum health 200
Gold 50
Perk Keeps unused rerolls between attacks
Starting item Chisel

The wording establishes between attacks. It does not establish carryover into a new run, an unlimited reserve or a specific cap. This guide does not assume those behaviors.

When should you stop rerolling?

Stop when the attack you can already submit satisfies the immediate task and another roll does not have a clear purpose. That task may be finishing an enemy or preserving the resources needed to survive. The relevant comparison is a successful turn versus the cost of chasing extra output.

Use this short decision sequence:

  1. Identify the result required now.
  2. Read the current attack and relevant item conditions.
  3. Ask which missing face or effect another roll would actually supply.
  4. If the present attack already does the job, compare keeping the reroll with spending it.
  5. If you still need a better result, choose which dice to change intentionally.

No success probability is assumed here. Your bag, face restrictions and equipment determine which outcomes are available.

The dice guide separates face restrictions from special effects so that those choices are easier to read.

How can unused rerolls contribute to damage or healing?

Some official item effects reward the unused resource directly, so the saved reroll can matter in the current comparison as well as between attacks. Check that the relevant item is actually equipped before counting a bonus; the hero’s carryover perk alone does not grant every item effect.

The official item selection lists two useful examples:

Equipped item Published resource link
Wolf Tooth Necklace Each unused reroll adds 1 Mult
Flower Crown Each unused reroll restores 5 health

For an isolated Wolf Tooth Necklace example, suppose your attack’s points subtotal is 50 and Mult is 4. One additional applicable Mult makes the ordinary score 250 instead of 200. That arithmetic shows why spending the final reroll may have a cost even when it improves the faces.

It does not establish the full timing or ordering of every item in the game. Compare the game’s displayed result with the damage breakdown and only include effects that actually apply.

Why might an old Huntress screenshot disagree with your starting item?

The developer strengthened The Huntress’s starting item during the October demo updates, so older footage is not a reliable inventory checklist for the current snapshot. The hero page currently names Chisel, but the inspected official reference does not provide enough detail to reconstruct every historical Chisel value.

The October demo update posts mention her starting-item improvement. Consequently:

  • Check the date and version of the footage you are following.
  • Read your own item’s current description before using an old calculation.
  • Do not import a stat or interaction just because the item has the same name.
  • Do not treat a future full-release change as already live.

This page was reviewed on November 4, before the planned November 30 launch. Its starting values require a release-day check.

Is The Huntress a better learning choice than The Beast?

The Huntress is useful for learning when to accept a sufficient result; The Beast makes the cost of another paid attempt explicit in health. Neither perk removes the need to understand your item triggers. Choose the lesson you need rather than assuming one character is officially rated best.

Compare her resource-preserving approach with The Beast’s health budget, then consult the hero roster before planning around a character that may still be locked.
